Job summary

Amentum seeks an Electronic Component Engineer to support NASA GFE flight projects from Houston. You will evaluate EEE parts, report reliability findings to the PCB, and recommend replacements. You will interact with NASA customers and participate in design reviews across space‑flight programs.

The role requires a engineering degree and hands-on experience with EEE parts selection, derating, NSPAR development, and DPA. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • Experience interfacing with NASA customers and coordinating team assignments.
  • Experience in supporting design reviews, product development teams, and component selection for space‑flight applications.
  • Experience with EEE activities including procurement specifications, source control drawings, and project documentation.
  • Experience with NSPAR development and PCB‑related documentation.
  • Experience with destructive physical analysis (DPA) and failure investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager.
  • Provide EEE parts support for NASA GFE Flight Projects and Programs.
  • Evaluate proposed EEE parts lists for hardware criticality and environmental suitability.
  • Report part manufacturers, materials, construction, derating, and reliability findings to PCB.
  • Recommend replacement EEE parts when needed.
  • Assist in EEE parts failure investigations.
  • Review NASA specifications, standards, and studies for NASA applications.
  • Support qualification plans, screening, NSPAR, and related documentation.
