Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Component Engineer to provide EEE parts support for NASA GFE Flight Projects and NASA Programs in Houston. You will evaluate parts, report findings to the PCB, and recommend replacements for space-flight applications.

The role involves interfacing with NASA customers, supporting qualification, NSPAR processing, and coordinating with test labs, manufacturers, and project teams. Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and space-related experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
• Experience interfacing with NASA customers and coordinating team assignments.
• Experience in design reviews, product development, and component selection for space-flight applications.
• Familiarity with procurement specifications, source control drawings, and project documentation.
• Experience preparing NASA Advisories and GIDEP Alerts.
• Knowledge of part selection, obsolescence reviews, and electrical part failure investigations.
• Experience with NSPAR development and PCB documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide EEE parts support for NASA GFE Flight Projects and Programs.
• Evaluate EEE parts lists for hardware criticality and environmental suitability.
• Report findings to the PCB and recommend replacements when needed.
• Assist in EEE parts failure investigations and review NASA specs and standards.
• Support qualification plans, screening, and NSPAR processes.
• Collaborate with test labs, manufacturers, and project teams.
