Job summary

Amentum, a leading engineering solutions provider for NASA pursuits, is seeking a Business Analyst / Project Coordinator to bridge stakeholders and technical teams. You will own requirements, elicit needs, and craft BRDs and user stories for multi-project scenarios.

You will lead elicitation, document processes, and support UAT while leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis and documentation. Onsite work in Houston may apply, with robust benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Experience as a Business Analyst on software development projects.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with ability to uncover unstated needs.
• Proven ability to write BRDs, functional specs, use cases, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for drafting requirements and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary analyst between business stakeholders and the technical team, owning requirements from first conversation through UAT
• Identify the underlying business problem behind each request and separate the stated solution from the actual need
• Lead requirements elicitation through interviews, workshops, and process observations
• Produce complete BRDs including problem statement, objectives, processes, rules, exceptions, and acceptance criteria
• Translate business requirements into functional specs and user stories for developers
• Map current and future-state processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for automation or AI
• Maintain traceability from business need through development and testing
• Plan and support user acceptance testing, write test scenarios, coordinate testers, track defects
• Use AI tools to speed up analysis, documentation, and process discovery, ensuring accuracy
• In coordination with IT Section Manager, support project execution: track tasks, milestones, risks, dependencies
