Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for High Reliability Systems in El Segundo, CA. You will build reliable firmware to control spacecraft components, own end-to-end software development, and perform design trades for open-ended space systems.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded software in C++, with on-site collaboration, safety-critical mindset, and the possibility of equity incentives as part of compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.
• 3+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Experience with development in C++, along with a strong understanding of language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all aspects of software development from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades.
• Write quality structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality through V&V techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical software on a tight schedule.
