Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Education Intern to help create space‑themed K-12 resources and plan educator events across the country. You will work hand‑in‑hand with program leads, educators, and volunteers to scale impact and deliver engaging lessons.

You will gain real-world experience in education program development, nonprofit operations, and data reporting while benefiting from mentorship and opportunities to attend conferences and tours.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and have at least one semester or quarter remaining after the internship.
  • Studying education, curriculum & instruction, communications, hospitality, nonprofit management, or a related field. Education majors and future educators strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: classroom instruction or tutoring, curriculum or lesson development, social media/outreach, event coordination, or project management.
  • Comfort with data entry, spreadsheets, and basic reporting; interest in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, automation platforms) to streamline work.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships and navigate diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressured, fast-paced situations.
  • Valid driverense.
  • Readiness to travel up to 25% of the time for educator conferences, events, and tours.

Responsibilities

  • Develop K-12 educational content: Assist in creating standards-aligned lesson plans, activity guides, and classroom resources for educators, with a focus on space, STEAM, and career exploration.
  • Support educator engagement: Help plan and staff educator-focused events such as teacher conferences (e.g., NSTA), professional development workshops, and facility tours for educators.
  • Create resources for students and teachers: Contribute to the design and production of student-facing materials, digital resources, and take-home activities.
  • Manage the volunteer program: Coordinate Blue Origin employee volunteers who support Club events and classroom engagements, including recruitment, scheduling, training, and recognition.
  • Leverage AI to improve systems: Explore and implement AI-driven tools to automate workflows such as event registration, volunteer matching, resource tagging, and communications — helping the team scale its impact.
  • Collect and analyze data: Support evaluation efforts by gathering, cleaning, and reporting on program data (e.g., event attendance, educator feedback, resource engagement) to inform program improvements and stakeholder reporting.
  • Coordinate events with minimal oversight: Own logistics for assigned events, including vendor coordination, materials prep, on-site support, and post-event follow-up.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders: Draft emails, social media posts, and educator communications; respond to inquiries from teachers, partners, and volunteers.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with Blue Origin and Club for the Future departments on shared projects and initiatives.
  • Bring ideas and initiative: Share your own perspectives — especially from your experience as an education student — to help improve our programs.
