Job summary

SAIC seeks an Outreach Engineer with Space Domain Operations experience to support a dynamic space program in Chantilly, VA. This role involves coordinating government stakeholders, translating intelligence needs into system requirements, and guiding engineering teams through lifecycle activities.

The ideal candidate holds a TS/SCI with Polygraph, a relevant engineering degree, and 5–7 years of space program systems engineering or education leadership, with strong communication under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or systems engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph within the last 2 years.
• 5–7 years of experience in space programs and systems engineering or large-group education leadership.
• Familiarity with DoD/IC programs and SOW compliance.
• Strong organizational and communication skills under high-pressure environments.
• Experience reviewing installation/test procedures, monitoring execution, and on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with government customers, Mission partners, and intelligence community stakeholders to identify capability gaps.
• Serve as a technical representative during engagements, working groups, and reviews.
• Translate operational intelligence requirements into system-level technical requirements and architectures.
• Assess how intelligence activities influence system requirements and decisions.
• Support requirements development, roadmaps, CONOPs, and mission engineering.
• Provide mission-focused insight into acquisition planning and technology maturation.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and program management teams to ensure requirements are represented and prioritized.
• Support proposals, technical presentations, demonstrations, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Analyze evolving mission needs and recommend enhancements to capabilities.
• Facilitate communication between acquisition organizations, mission users, and engineering teams throughout the lifecycle.
