Job summary

SMX is seeking a Jr. Project Manager to support Space & Intelligence programs in Boulder, CO. The role involves coordinating multiple teams, tracking schedules, and ensuring contract compliance on government projects involving OPIR sensor data.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in business or related field, has 3+ years in project/program management, and holds an active Interim DoD Secret clearance. On-site work five days a week.

Qualifications

• This position requires an active Interim DoD Secret Clearance. Clearance required: Active DoD Secret. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must also participate in a background screen.
• BS or advanced degree in Business Administration or another relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in project engineering, program management, or finance roles (an advanced degree (eg: Masters, PhD) provides two years of experience)
• Experience managing software development focused programs in the defense and aerospace fields, especially as a subcontractor
• Excellent understanding of the full software development lifecycle on government programs
• Experience with general Program Management tools such as MS Project and MS Office Suite
• Experience with personnel management of 10 or more individuals
• Excellent organization skills with exceptional attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as secondary point of contact to the customer
• Cost Report Development and Analysis
• Contract Management including assisting with setup in financial management software, Mod reviews, Funding Runout tracking, EAC/VAC analysis
• Supporting Status and Customer Meetings
• ROM and Proposal Support
• Dependencies and Risk Support
• Monthly Status Reports
• Schedule Development
• Support early phases of starting a program to establish appropriate infrastructure for the team and ensure contract compliance
• Serve as people manager to SMX Space & Intelligence Business Unit employees on the programs supported
