Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a Process Engineer to drive manufacturing, automation, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will support slip ring production and outsourced vendors, read blueprints, and coordinate with domestic and international teams to optimize processes.

You\'ll report to the Value Stream Manager and work onsite, with a focus on reducing cycle times, improving tooling, and delivering clear performance reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field. Engineering experience preferred.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers across the business.

Responsibilities

• Handle projects related to manufacturing, automation, quality, and continuous improvement or 5S.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Work and maintain confidential information.
• Support slip ring production departments and Outsource Vendors.
• Oversee manufacturing process development with domestic and international teams.
• Order and support tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes, and continuous improvement.
• Review and respond to RFQs on new orders.
• Conduct design reviews and suggest manufacturability improvements.
• Support technical problem-solving teams.
• Provide reports to management on schedules and expenditures.
• Support technical exchanges with suppliers and Moog.
• Cross-train to support multiple product lines.
• Complete any other tasks as assigned by supervisor or operations manager.
