Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Capture Manager to lead end-to-end proposal and quoting efforts for the Space and Launch segment. You will translate strategy into compelling, compliant, on-time submissions and coordinate cross-functional inputs and staffing.

You will drive bid/no-bid decisions, manage proposal resources, and ensure rigorous process adherence from kickoff through delivery, maintaining strong CRM pipeline data and collaboration with Finance, Contracts, and Program Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, communications, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in proposal management or capture in aerospace/defense or federal contracting with FAR/DFARS.
• Proven track record owning compliant, on-time submissions across multiple pursuits.
• Strong knowledge of proposal compliance, structure, evaluation criteria, and compliance matrices.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional proposal teams over multi-week or multi-month cycles.
• Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and document management tools.

Responsibilities

• Leads the full proposal and quote lifecycle for the segment, ensuring compliant, complete, and on-time submissions.
• Develops and manages proposal plans, schedules, and review milestones from kickoff to final delivery.
• Triages requests and applies appropriate process based on opportunity complexity and value.
• Coordinates cross-functional proposal resources with segment General Manager for staffing visibility.
• Collaborates with Proposal Operations to secure writers, reviewers, and desktop publishing when needed.
• Writes or coordinates development of proposal volumes across technical, management, past performance, and price/cost sections.
• Executes capture process including gate reviews, bid/no-bid, and competitive assessments.
• Maintains accurate pipeline data in CRM for segment pursuits.
• Leads segment proposal team with clear roles and a tiered response process.
• Coordinates pricing and cost volume development with Finance, PM, and Contracts.
