Job summary

MDW Associates is seeking an Intermediate Budget Analyst to support NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. The role partners with scientists, engineers, and leadership to drive budgeting, planning, and resource management on-site.

The position requires strong analytical skills, Excel/PowerPoint proficiency, and Power BI experience, with a focus on data-driven decision making and effective financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of budgeting/financial experience.
• Strong analytical skills with data tools.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel/PowerPoint.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization.
• Knowledge of automated financial systems and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Partner with PIs and project teams to support budgeting and execution.
• Analyze budget and workforce data to identify trends/risks.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, spending plans, and submissions.
• Monitor funding and expenditures; propose resource optimizations.
• Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for leadership.
• Support PPBE activities and related budget formulation efforts.
• Use Power BI and analytics tools to generate insights.
• Assist with cost proposals for research and technology initiatives.
• Coordinate with NASA HQ to resolve budget issues and data requests.
• Identify process improvements for reporting and financial management.
