Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Remote Sensing Architecture Technical Engineer to apply advanced modeling and simulation for space-based sensing architectures. You will work with a diverse technical team on requirement verification, AoA analyses, and performance modeling for national security and civil space programs.

The role is on-site at Chantilly, VA with potential alternate locations in El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

Qualifications

  • MS degree in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
  • 0–1 yr of industry experience in relevant topic areas post bachelor’s degree (e.g., modeling and simulation, mission analysis, astrodynamics, or space operations).
  • Knowledge or project experience with one or more of the following: space-related modeling and simulation, geolocation, mission data processing, signal processing, space threats, resilient systems, advanced PNT technologies, algorithm design, software development, or mathematical modeling.
  • Familiarity with one or more software languages that may include Python, C/C++, and/or High-Performance Computing/Linux environments.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Transcripts are required for this position

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis in geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, navigation, and/or space protection areas.
  • Apply engineering techniques to support research, development, and acquisition decisions.
  • Perform architecture evaluation and performance modeling using in-house or custom tools.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to plan deep dives, trade studies, and assessments; translate customer needs into objectives.
  • Develop and present technical presentations and reports communicating analysis results.
  • Aid in sustainment and growth of the organization’s analysis and simulation capabilities.
