Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Remote Sensing Architecture Technical Engineer to support requirements verification, AoA studies, and performance modeling for space-based sensing architectures at our Chantilly, VA facility. The role emphasizes modeling using in-house tools in geospatial intelligence and space surveillance contexts.

You will work with senior staff to plan deep dives, trade studies, and assessments, delivering technical reports and presentations to customers and management

Qualifications

  • MS degree in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or related field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
  • 0–1 year of industry experience in modeling & simulation, mission analysis, astrodynamics, or space operations.
  • Familiarity with Python, C/C++, and HPC/Linux environments.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0; ability to obtain security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Support analysis in geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, navigation systems, or space protection.
  • Apply engineering techniques to research, development, and acquisition decisions for space-based sensing architectures.
  • Perform architecture evaluation modeling of overall performance with in-house tools; present results to leads and customers.
  • Aid sustainment and growth of analysis and simulation capabilities across diverse customers.
