Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced software engineer to support New Glenn avionics testing. You will develop Linux instrument drivers, build hardware-in-the-loop test frameworks, and create operator-facing tools to run on the test floor.

You will own the automated result-checking infrastructure that determines pass/fail for flight-critical hardware. As part of the Chassis Tester Software team, you will be an individual technical contributor responsible for ensuring verification before

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software coding and engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python or C++.
• Experience developing software on Linux.
• Experience with networking stack (socket, UDP/TCP, parsing, reliability).
• Hands-on experience writing hardware interface software (instrument drivers).
• Git workflow discipline, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Capture requirements with internal customers and deliverables to meet program milestones.
• Design and implement production-quality instrument software drivers for test instruments.
• Work with avionics hardware engineers to understand instrument behavior and validate drivers against specs.
• Architect and extend automated test execution frameworks.
• Implement check logic, pass/fail criteria, limit management, and structured report generation for test campaigns.
