Mission Technologies, a division of HII, announces a fall 2026 internship to support the Principal AI/ML Engineer. You will help advance space simulation and AI development for USSF customers, collaborating with AI engineers, modeling and simulation engineers, product owners, and program managers to deliver end-to-end AI models for space superiority analytics and multi-domain needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; working toward a Bachelor's degree (20–40% of required credits completed).
• Interest in Space Operations.
• Solid Technical Writing Skills.
• Willingness to Tackle Difficult Problems.
• Willingness to Learn New Languages (e.g., AFScript).

Responsibilities

• Build software from source for different platforms using various compilers.
• Develop acceptance, integration, and unit tests for a variety of technologies.
• Develop new capabilities leveraging existing libraries.
• Participate in software design meetings.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Perform issue backlog and board maintenance.
• Provide execution plan and status report inputs.
• Write user and developer documentation.
