Mandarin Oriental NYC is looking for a Spa Therapist to join our Spa and Wellness team.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Spa and Wellness Department in New York City, the Spa Therapist is responsible for performing all spa treatments to guests in a professional and pleasant fashion. The Spa Therapist reports to the Director of Spa and Wellness.

Responsibilities:

1. A licensed massage therapist (LMT) is able to perform all Spa Industry Standard and various MOHG modalities on guests for various durations of time implemented by MOHG Spa department in accordance to Spa Menus and Guests needs.
2. Spa Industry Standard modalities and categories of treatments include but are not limited to Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone, Body/Wet treatments.
3. MOHG modalities and categories of treatments include but are not limited to Signature treatments, Journeys, Body/Wet treatments, suite experiences, Beauty by Mandarin treatments.
4. Assist in the operations of all spa departments as required to ensure that the highest Five Star standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
5. Maintain cleanliness and attention to detail in spa treatment rooms/suites throughout shift including cleaning and restocking.
6. Assist in tidiness of spa public spaces as deemed necessary in accordance to Spa Service Standards.

Expectations:

1. Hired with a New York State recognized License from accredited school, and will maintain and keep current the New York State license and certifications in accordance to NY State Guidelines.

3. Attend Daily Line Up as part of living and energizing Company Culture.
4. Perform treatments on guests whilst always maintaining the guest’s comfort.
5. Be on time for appointments and thoroughly review appointments after completing each treatment.
6. Keep work area clean and neat.
7. Follow all Standards and Procedures as taught by legendary trainers or Head Therapist.
8. Ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the Spa.
9. Be open to learning about treatments and concepts that derive from other cultures.
10. Maintain professionalism, appearance and attitude as expected of all spa colleagues.
11. Be adaptable and accountable for all actions.
12. Understand the current legislation in regards to State and local laws for therapists.
13. Strive for a higher level of achievement both personally and professionally.
14. Be comfortable performing treatments for at least 8 hours.
15. Have good time management skills in regards to treatments.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay subject to IWA agreement. Benefit rate hourly at $41.09. A competitive benefits package.
