Job summary

Bluestar Resort & Golf is seeking a Hairstylist to deliver hair and salon services in a calm, client-centered environment. This position reports to the Spa & Fitness Director and strives to uphold the BlueStar Experience for every guest.

Responsibilities include performing all menu treatments, maintaining client records, promoting products, and staying compliant with licenses and safety standards. A flexible schedule including evenings/weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year previous customer service and hairstylist/salon experience preferred.
• Must maintain all current licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level.
• Participate in continuing education courses (CEU), if required by the state for license renewal and remain current on techniques.
• Computer literate.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Ability to explain and promote treatments, services, and products to guests
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
• Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
• Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hair and salon services to clients.
• Maintain a professional, confidential practitioner-client relationship; adhere to universal precautions and code of ethics.
• Assess client contraindications that may prevent a service or product use.
• Remain focused on client care during sessions and engage in conversations about client interests.
• Follow health care protocol; report any incident to Wellness Director.
• Create and maintain client cards, services provided, and treatment notes.
• Perform all treatments on services menu, based on current certifications.
• Know all spa services offered and suggest other treatments.
• Maintain knowledge of ingredients; explain benefits and suggest home-use products.
• Keep a clean, sanitized work environment and follow setup protocol.
• Work assigned schedule; begin and end all treatments on time; keep areas clean.
• Attend scheduled meetings and trainings.
• Assist staff with lifting and storing facility equipment and products.
• Other duties as assigned.
