Job Description: Spa Director

The Spa Director is a salaried, exempt supervisory position and a member of the Resorts Leadership Committee. Under the guidance of the General Manager, the Spa Director oversees all facets of the spa, including staffing, scheduling, programming, and management of massage, skincare, body and bath treatments, salon, locker rooms, and retail sales.
Responsibilities:
- Manage financial aspects including revenues, GOP, and flow-through.
- Oversee all spa expenses and capital purchases, communicating needs to the GM.
- Develop payroll initiatives with HR, including commission or fixed fee structures.
- Ensure compliance with massage, salon, and skincare laws and licensing requirements.
- Create policies and procedures for each department and overall spa operations.
- Develop and update job descriptions; oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.
- Maintain professional relationships with other resort departments.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Develop salary and commission structures; assist in budget development and monitoring revenues and costs.
- Support marketing and public relations efforts to promote the spa.
- Coordinate with department leads to ensure service coverage and guest satisfaction.
- Manage the Resort Suites system and optimize its tools and reports.
- Maximize revenue through room yield management and retail sales initiatives.
- Implement new services, protocols, SOPs, and staff training.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and create a cohesive team environment.
- Identify and develop future spa leaders.

- Ability to train, supervise, motivate, and retain staff.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of five years as a Spa Director managing a revenue exceeding $3 million.
- Experience serving on a Hotel/Resort Leadership Committee is preferred.
- Proven success in increasing sales, profitability, guest service, and staff retention.
