Job summary

Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, Aspire Restaurant in Big Sky, MT, seeks a Seasonal Full Time Server to interact with members, take orders, and ensure satisfaction. You will prepare and reset private and club events, supporting the venue’s goals and values.

The role requires knowledge of wine, spirits, beer and food, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task in a lively private club setting. Weekend/holiday availability may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing proper procedures by venue managers and chefs.
• Guide guests through all phases of their experience with full menu knowledge and preparation methods.
• Anticipate members’ and guests’ needs and respond with urgency.
• Ensure allergies and dietary restrictions are clearly communicated to the culinary team.
• Clean spills and broken glassware promptly and use floor signs.
• Maintain equipment and supplies per company policies and keep items in good working order.
• Work as a team and communicate with management, bartenders and service staff to address guests’ needs.
• Set up events per specifications (buffets, tables, chairs, linens, decorations).
• Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown as needed.
• Work with event manager, restaurant manager and kitchen staff for smooth event execution.
• Clean and reset event spaces after the event.
• Enforce all state and federal liquor laws.
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.

SUMMARY

Spanish Peaksis a private community situated on 3,500 acres nestled at 7,700 feet in stunning Big Sky, Montana. We are about 50 miles away from Bozeman, Belgrade, and West Yellowstone, MT.

The Server position at the Aspire Restaurant will require you to interact one on one with the members, take their orders, suggest beverages utilizing company service standards, and ensure member satisfaction. In addition to responsibilities in the restaurant, this position is also responsible for preparing, working, and resetting private and club events when necessary. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs.
• Guiding guests through all phases of their experience at the venue while commanding full menu knowledge and preparation methods at all times.
• Anticipate the members’ and guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency
• Ensuring member and guest allergies and dietary restrictions are clearly communicated to the culinary team
• Cleaning all spills, and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary
• Cleaning of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and County health department.
• Working as a team and effectively communicating with management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Associates.
• Set up events according to event specifications, including buffets, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and decorations.
• Assist with buffet setup, replenishment, and breakdown as needed.
• Work closely with event manager, restaurant manager, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth event execution.
• Clean and reset event spaces at the conclusion of the event
• Enforce all State and Federal laws regarding liquor sales
• Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two (2) years’ experience as a server in a hotel, private club or similar restaurant establishment
• Excellent customer service skills and an in-depth knowledge of Wine, Spirits, Beer, and Food are required.
• Must have strong communication skills and ability to multi-task is required
• Always being positive, showing enthusiasm, being humble, being thankful, and being respectful to all team members.
• Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure
• Ability to read and write in English proficiently as well as having basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
• Must be punctual and have regular and reliable attendance.
• Must have a positive attitude, be self-motivated, polite, energetic and a willing learner
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age to serve alcohol

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most work shifts and tasks are performed indoors but may have some tasks and/or shifts assigned outdoors. Indoor temperature is moderate and controlled by the clubhouse environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware, up to 50 lbs. Must be able to push and pull carts, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
