Job summary

Spanish Peaks Mountain Club, a private club at 7,700 feet in Big Sky, Montana, is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Bartender for the Aspire Restaurant. You will greet members, take orders, and craft cocktails following club standards while delivering a seamless luxury guest experience.

The role includes assisting with private and club events, coordinating with the event and kitchen teams, maintaining bar stock, and upholding state and federal liquor laws. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years restaurant experience and/or 2 years bartending in a hotel, private club or similar restaurant establishment.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, sake, beer, fortified wines, etc.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are required
• Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task
• Read/write English proficiently; basic math and calculator skills
• Must be punctual and have reliable attendance
• Positive, respectful, energetic and a willing learner
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays

SUMMARY

Spanish Peaks is a private community situated on 3,500 acres nestled at 7,700 feet in stunning Big Sky, Montana. We are about 50 miles away from Bozeman, Belgrade, and West Yellowstone, MT.

The Bartender position at the Aspire Restaurant will require you to interact one-on-one with the members and guests, take their orders, make cocktails utilizing company service standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. In addition to responsibilities in the restaurant, this position is also responsible for preparing, working, and resetting private and club events when necessary. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

• Consistently follow Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by club managers and chefs
• Maintain and control secure storage for supplies
• Assist in planning, developing, and implementation of all new drink menus and cocktail recipes
• Exhibit proper knowledge, selling techniques and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and any menu items offered while maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar
• Anticipate the members’ and guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency
• Responsible for banquet bar setup, replenishment, and breakdown when needed
• Work closely with event manager, restaurant manager, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth event execution.
• Clean and reset event spaces at the conclusion of the event
• Cleaning all spills, and broken glassware/dishes immediately, using floor signs when necessary
• Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintain equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and County health department.
• Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by members, guests and/or other Associates
• Ability to multi-task between tending to members at the bar and making drinks for the service team
• Provide members and guests with a seamless luxury experience
• Enforce all State and Federal laws regarding liquor sales
• Perform additional duties as assigned that may be outside of the normal scope of duties based on business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Most work shifts and tasks are performed indoors but may have some tasks and/or shifts assigned outdoors. Indoor temperature is moderate and controlled by the clubhouse environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware, up to 50 lbs. Must be able to push and pull carts, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
