Job summary

PwC is seeking an Enterprise Risk Management/SOX Associate to support audit and assurance engagements focused on evaluating internal controls, governance, and risk management across client environments.

You will learn from varied client work, assist with control design and operating effectiveness, and help document findings while developing client-facing confidence within our Audit and Assurance practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 1 year of experience.
• Pursuit of CIA/CPA/CISA certifications is a plus.
• Apply internal control concepts and SOX testing methods in audit support work.
• Gather, organize, and analyze data to identify patterns and control gaps.
• Strong communication skills to convey findings to senior team members and clients.
• Adaptability across varied client environments and changing project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Support internal audit and enterprise risk management engagements through control walkthroughs, documentation, and testing activities.
• Review financial reporting processes, internal controls, and supporting evidence to identify gaps and control weaknesses.
• Analyze business processes, transaction flows, and control design to help assess risk exposure.
• Prepare workpapers, summaries, and issue documentation for senior review.
• Gather information from client teams and various sources to support audit planning and fieldwork.
• Apply auditing methods, internal control concepts, and compliance knowledge to assigned tasks.
• Use data analysis, visualization, and digital tools to spot trends, anomalies, and control exceptions.
• Contribute to remediation tracking by updating issue status and supporting follow-up activities.
