Genuine Parts Company in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking a SOX Analyst to serve as the second line of defense, ensuring internal controls are designed and implemented effectively. The role partners with control owners, internal audit, and external auditors to promote a best-in-class control environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in audit/internal controls or SOX, strong communication, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience in audit, internal controls, SOX compliance, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintains documentation of internal control processes via RCM and narratives.
• Supports internal and external audit processes with required documentation.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and document internal controls.
• Develops and manages remediation plans for control deficiencies.
• Acts as liaison between management, internal and external auditors to align SOX objectives.
• Assists with controls during automation, process changes, or system implementations.
• Partners cross-functionally to address business questions, drive change and results.
• Participates in process improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of controls.
• Identifies opportunities where digital tech can streamline finance processes.
