Job summary

Independence Family Animal Care is seeking a Farm Manager to lead daily farm operations on-site. You will supervise staff, ensure adherence to production protocols for gestation and farrowing, and partner with HR to recruit and retain farm personnel.

Strong focus on safety, paperwork accuracy, and bio-security is essential. The role requires experience in livestock production, supervisory duties, and the ability to manage inventory, reporting, and compliance with animal welfare standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prefer 2 years post high school education with agricultural major.
• Prefer 4+ years livestock experience and 2 years supervisory experience.
• Prefer 1 year agriculture swine experience and 1 year supervisory experience with 2 years post high school agricultural education.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train employees to follow production protocols and procedures.
• Monitor protocols and production efficiencies; complete policing routines.
• Ensure accurate inventory management of swine, semen ordering and supplies.
• Oversee feed inventory; place orders as needed.
• Conduct goal setting with employees and monitor progress to maximize production.
• Analyze financial reporting and adjust to meet or exceed budgets; perform SOAP analyses where applicable.
• Coordinate HR activities in recruiting, interviewing, and retaining farm staff.
