About the Job
The Invasive Radiology nurse provides care to all age groups referred with various system abnormalities. S/he is expected to practice collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines. Under the supervision of the Radiology nurse supervisor, this person will be responsible for:
- Identifying, facilitating, and evaluating outcomes of nursing care for individual or groups of patients using the nursing process.
- Coordinating all aspects and providing technical/medical expertise for adult and pediatric diagnostic interventional Radiology procedures.
- Documenting relevant patient information during Radiology procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care outcomes.
- Consider developmental, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, cultural, self-care, educational, and discharge needs.
- Plan care collaboratively with patients and families.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and evaluate their outcomes.
- Re-evaluate nursing orders and incorporate discharge education into the care plan.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate nursing care and provide expertise on interventional Radiology procedures.
- Utilize evidence-based standards and safety protocols.
- Monitor oximetry, perform hemodynamic monitoring, and provide arrhythmia detection.
- Administer IV therapies, start IVs, draw blood, and verify medication orders.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Participate in handoffs and utilize computer resources efficiently.
- Incorporate relationship-based care and comfort strategies.
Leadership and Safety
- Respond effectively during emergencies.
- Adhere to nursing ethics and perform preceptorship if applicable.
- Engage in process improvement and safety initiatives.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform all nursing care during Radiology procedures.
- Communicate effectively within and outside the department.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer systems.
- Respect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
- Show compassion and patience in interactions.
- Use patient safety equipment properly.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
- Current RN licensure in New Hampshire.
- 2-4 years of ICU/CCU or Emergency Services experience preferred.
