About Us

SNHMC has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services include neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics procedures, utilizing the latest technology. The OR also offers Periop-101 and other advancements.

Job Overview

As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the OR RN cares for patients aged 6 months through adulthood undergoing surgical/invasive procedures under various anesthesia types. The role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, teamwork, collaboration, evidence-based practice, data utilization for quality improvement, and the use of informatics to support safe and effective care.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver nursing care using a patient-centered approach and Professional Practice Model.
  2. Collaborate with team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  3. Implement current evidence-based practices for healthcare delivery.
  4. Use data to enhance quality and safety.
  5. Utilize informatics and technology for communication, information management, error mitigation, and decision support.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current RN license in NH or a compact state.
  • Maintain professional practice and participate in ongoing education.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Achieve unit-specific competencies within designated timelines, including BLS within 30 days, surgical equipment handling, aseptic techniques, and circulating specialties within 90-180 days.
