Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Southern Arizona Water Projects Coordinator to advance freshwater conservation in the San Pedro River and Sonoita Creek watersheds. You will collaborate with staff, partners, and communities to design and implement projects that enhance river resilience, aquifer recharge, and habitat across Southern Arizona.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in science-related field with 3 years of related experience.
• Experience with natural systems, ecological land management principles, and/or water conservation or management.
• Communicating clearly via written, spoken and graphical means in English.
• Experience with current software technology such as the full suite of Microsoft applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and databases.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Youth qualified (completion of internal training within initial 30 days of employment; annually thereafter).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Southern Arizona Water Projects with partners to promote resilience of ecosystems and communities across Southern Arizona.
• Lead field visits, project design, implementation, and data management.
• Plan, organize and participate in citizen science events and stakeholder meetings.
• Develop external relationships with stakeholders including government agencies, conservation organizations, and landowners.
• Produce maps using ArcGIS for internal and external use.
• Support budgeting, grant reporting, and contract negotiations as needed.
