Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) is seeking a Southeast Area Coordinator to provide consultative services, planning expertise, and emergency assistance to local and tribal jurisdictions in the southeast area of Oklahoma. The position is field-based across Oklahoma with offices in Oklahoma City.

It is a regular, full-time role governed by the Oklahoma Civil Service system, with a mandatory 12-month trial period and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management plus one year of qualifying experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of state, federal, emergency management resources
• Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills

Responsibilities

• Assist local, tribal, and state personnel with emergency management programs
• Support FEMA grants and state grant documentation
• Provide technical planning expertise and assistance to jurisdictions
• Coordinate field operations across Oklahoma and in the SE region
• Maintain working relationships with local officials and partners during disasters
