Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years field experience with an insurance carrier.
• Proficient in Xactimate.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
• Must maintain required licenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and responsive customer service to insureds.
• Review and adjust first-party claims within assigned authority limits.
• Research policy coverage forms for claim settlement or denial.
• Conduct basic claim investigations at both the desk and field levels.
• Schedule inspections of damaged property and travel to affected properties.
• Fully inspect, photograph, sketch and scope all damaged and undamaged areas.
• Determine the total value of the claim.
• Use software to determine loss parameters and establish reserves.
• Provide verbal and written customer service.
• Document claim activity and potential subrogation.
• Participate in training and claim roundtables.
• Prepare basic claim correspondence (reservation of rights, denial letters).
• Assist with catastrophe operations as required.
