The Public Schools of Northborough-Southborough is seeking a Southborough Extended Day Site Coordinator to supervise the before and after‑school program and foster a safe, enriching environment for students.

Reporting to the Extended Day Director, you will manage daily activities, attendance, tuition processes, and parent communication while coordinating staff and community partners to ensure high‑quality programming.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching and/or administration in before/after school care or related field.
  • Experience developing children’s program development and enrichment programs.
  • Ability to supervise a team of up to ten staff members and community partners.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the Extended Day Program at the building level.
  • Implement daily programming with enthusiasm and competence.
  • Reflect and document effectiveness of programming and student engagement.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):

The Extended Day Site Coordinator is responsible for creating, fostering, and maintaining a robust and enriching environment for the before and after-school extended day program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have a minimum of one year experience in teaching and/or administration in the field of before/after school care or related field
  • Experience in developing children’s program development and enrichment programs.
  • Ability to supervise and support a team of up to ten staff members and additional community partners
  • Administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate daily activities including student attendance, tuition collection and management and parent communication
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills to collaborate with school-day teachers, staff and Administration
  • Facilitate program planning to ensure educational frameworks are embedded into enrichment activities
  • Sensitivity to and/or experience in working with children and adults from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed:

  • The Site Coordinator, in consultation with the Director of Extended Day, will supervise and manage the Extended Day Program at the building level.
  • Implement daily programming with enthusiasm and competence.
  • Reflect and document effectiveness of programming; including student engagement.
  • Become familiar with each student’s strengths and areas of growth.
  • Ensure student safety and follow appropriate protocols.
  • Maintain all student’s records in accordance with DESE guidelines.
  • Manage group leader assignments and schedules to maintain appropriate student ratios.
  • Maintain current enrollment and daily attendance records.
  • Manage the supplies and equipment for the program.
  • Assist with staff and program evaluations.
  • Support the annual registration process.
  • Coordinate communication with parents of program participants.
  • Maintain communication about behaviors, incidents/accidents with parents and staff.
  • Maintain accurate information on student program participants.
  • Any other duties as required by the Director of Extended Day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in a school environment before or after school hours.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the staff is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
