Job summary

OU Health's South Emergency Department is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time mid shift (1p-1a) in the SOKC Emergency Department. You will provide patient care under supervision as part of a care team.

Responsibilities include nursing assessment, monitoring vital signs, following a nursing plan, ostomy and NG tube care, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and assisting physicians during exams. Current LPN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of NCLEX-PN examination requirements.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing assessment through data collection and vital signs.
• Provide care according to established nursing plans.
• Observe changes in patient condition and notify supervision.
• Perform ostomy care, NG tube placement/feeding, and oxygen therapy.
• Suction and clean tracheotomy sites; administer medications as ordered.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist physicians during examinations.
• May serve as Surgical Tech if operating room position opens.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
