Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for mid-shift PRN coverage in the South OKC/Freestanding Emergency Department. You will work under supervision to perform nursing assessments, implement care plans, and monitor patients according to physician orders and unit protocols.

The role requires a valid LPN license in Oklahoma, current BLS, and completion of NCLEX-PN requirements. Prior OR knowledge is beneficial for surgery positions; strong communication is essential for team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.
• Must be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with nursing assessment through data collection, observation, and vital signs.
• Provides care according to the established nursing plan.
• Monitors patient condition and notifies supervisors of changes.
• Administers various medications as ordered.
