Job summary

Sullivan's Steakhouse in Wilmington, DE is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to join our leadership team in a fast-paced upscale dining room. You will assist the Executive Chef, supervise line cooks, mentor staff, and ensure consistent plate execution across daily features, specials, and large events.

Requirements include 2+ years as a Sous Chef, strong broiler skills, and prior steakhouse experience. The role emphasizes quality, cost controls, and guest satisfaction, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Sous Chef experience in upscale casual or fine dining.
• Strong broiler skills required.
• Experience in a steakhouse is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef in organizing, training and staff management when the Executive Chef is present or absent.
• Prepare data for applicable parts of the budget; project annual food, labor and other costs and monitor actual financial results; take corrective action as necessary to help ensure that financial goals are met.
• Regularly creates unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events; accommodate dietary restrictions and guest preferences as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present, and acts on behalf of Executive Chef when Executive Chef is absent in matters of organizing, training and employee management
• Assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget; projects annual food, labor and other costs and monitors actual financial results; takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met
• Regularly creates unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events; and as called upon in consultation with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
