Job summary

Sullivan's Steakhouse is seeking a Sous Chef to support our kitchen's leadership team in a premium dining environment. You will assist the Executive Chef with staff organization, training, and day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and guest satisfaction.

You will also help prepare budget-related data, monitor costs, and contribute to daily features and menu items while accommodating dietary restrictions and guest preferences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Sous Chef experience in an upscale casual dining or fine dining environment.
• Strong broiler skills are required.
• Experience in a steakhouse is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef with organizing, training and managing staff when Executive Chef is present or absent.
• Prepare data for budget and monitor food, labor and other costs to help ensure financial goals are met.
• Create daily features and menu items; accommodate dietary restrictions and guest palate preferences.

Assists Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present, and acts on behalf of Executive Chef when Executive Chef is absent in matters of organizing, training and employee management

Assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget ; projects annual food, labor and other costs and monitors actual financial results; takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met

Regularly creates unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events; and as called upon in consultation with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
