Kreis' Steakhouse has been proudly serving Frontenac since 1948. As a 3rd generation family-owned establishment, we uphold a tradition of fine dining paired with warm hospitality.

We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef/Line Cook to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will undergo comprehensive training covering every facet of our kitchen operations. The position entails working the line for three evenings per week, with the remaining time dedicated to assisting the Executive Chef in various culinary endeavors.

Responsibilities:

  • Mastering the art of steak cutting/cleaning. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CLEANING AND CUTTING VARIOUS CUTS OF MEAT.
  • Executing duties across all kitchen stations with finesse and precision.
  • Working the line 3 evenings per week preparing food to order, ensuring that dishes are made to exact specifications and standards.
  • Assisting in inventory management and order placement.
  • Upholding sanitation standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for the culinary arts.
  • Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, preferably in fine dining establishments.
  • Proficiency in meat cutting techniques (trimming and portioning) and extensive prep experience.
  • Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and kitchen safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a team environment

Pay:

  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate with your experience and skill set.

Schedule:

  • You will be expected to work five days per week, with three evening shifts on the line (AM/PM shifts and weekday/weekend availability)
  • Please note that availability for most holidays is required (we are closed: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day)
