Job summary

Nordstrom is seeking a chef on our Restaurant team in California to blend kitchen expertise with artistry. You’ll lead a scratch-cooking operation, develop staff, and drive profitability while ensuring compliance with company procedures.

The role includes completing a Manager in Training program, mentoring the kitchen team, and delivering high-quality guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in full-service upscale restaurant management.
• Passion for quality food and exceptional customer service.
• Solid written and verbal communication and basic accounting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and flexible schedule.
• Food handler’s card as required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen crew in scratch cooking our recipes and weekly specials.
• Train, motivate and develop staff while pursuing process improvements and profitability.
• Ensure kitchen is clean and pass the white glove test.
• Complete a Manager in Training program covering kitchen operations.
