Job summary

Lutheran Home & Harwood Place in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to lead meal preparation for residents, adhere to established menus and dietary guidelines, and ensure food safety and sanitation. This regular full-time role involves supervising the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef and delivering a high-quality dining experience with pride and professionalism.

Hours for the position are 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, including an every other Saturday & Sunday rotation 6:00

Qualifications

• At least one solid year of kitchen leadership experience is required.
• Associate Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Creativity and a passion for cooking are a must!

SOUS CHEF - HP

Salary Range: $19.06 To $23.06 Hourly

At Harwood Place we offer a full-service upscale dining experience for our residents and are looking for a dedicated and reliable Sous Chef to join our Dining team! Responsibilities include meal preparation in accordance with established menus, standards recipes and specialized diets. The Sous Chef will assure that all food safety and sanitization practices are in line with regulation and will supervise and lead the team in the absence of the Executive Chef. Interested candidates should be detail-oriented, creative and dedicated to our mission and "4 C's."

Hours for the position are 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM, including an every other Saturday & Sunday rotation 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and every other holiday.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Hands-on experience in meal production, baking and quality control.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff; assigning duties and tasks as necessary. Lead with professionalism and by example.
• Customer-service oriented with a focus on taking pride in delivering a high-quality product and experience.

Necessary Qualifications:

• At least one solid year of kitchen leadership experience is required. Experience working in a retirement setting (or other healthcare setting) is preferred but not required.
• Associate Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
• Creativity and a passion for cooking are a must!
