Job Opening: Sous Chef at Morrison Healthcare

Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for full and part-time Sous Chef positions at Penn Highlands Elk, Saint Marys, PA. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full and part-time, with days and hours varying. Must be able to work every other weekend. Additional details provided during interview.

Requirements: Food service and cooking experience required.

Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinate activities of kitchen staff, and assume leadership in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Cook and prepare food according to recipes and standards, meeting production deadlines.
  2. Supervise food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  3. Store food safely following all sanitation and safety regulations.
  4. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature maintenance.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstations, ensuring sanitation standards.
  6. Interact with customers to resolve issues courteously and relay feedback to supervisors.
  7. Understand and explain menu items accurately to staff and customers.
  8. Manage peak production and service hours efficiently.
  9. Monitor inventory, deliveries, and waste, informing supervisors of low supplies.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
