Job Opening: Sous Chef at Tusculum University

Location: Tusculum University, 60 Shiloh Road, Greeneville, TN 37745. Online applications only.

Schedule: Full-time; Monday-Thursday, 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Additional details provided during interview.

Requirements: Prior supervisory experience and full-service restaurant line experience.

Pay Range: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour.

Job Summary

Assist the Executive Chef with food preparation, coordinate kitchen staff, and manage operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare food following recipes and standards, meeting deadlines.
  2. Supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.
  3. Store food safely following all sanitation guidelines.
  4. Ensure proper food handling, presentation, and temperature control.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work areas.
  6. Interact with customers to resolve complaints and relay information to supervisors.
  7. Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
  8. Monitor inventory and supplies, track production and waste.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
