  • Schedule: Full-time. Hours and days may vary; more details upon interview.
  • Requirement: One year of sous chef experience required.
  • Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food, coordinates activities of cooks and food-service associates, and assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and standards, meeting deadlines based on production orders.
  • Supervise hourly food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews.
  • Store food properly following all safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment and work areas, and keep display equipment clean during service.
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints courteously and relay relevant information to supervisors.
  • Understand and explain menu items to staff and customers.
  • Manage peak production and service hours effectively.
  • Monitor inventory, deliveries, and track product usage and waste; inform supervisors of low supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
