Job summary

Arbor Lodging is seeking a Sous Chef to coordinate kitchen operations and banquet responsibilities while training staff. You will lead food preparation, storage, cleanliness, and record-keeping with flexibility and culinary integrity. The role emphasizes guest hospitality and proactive operations across BOH functions.

The candidate should demonstrate strong culinary knowledge and previous supervisory experience, with a commitment to quality and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant experience
• 3+ years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role

Responsibilities

• Prepare and direct the preparation of food to be served, complying with all sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards
• Use supplies and facility properly to minimize loss, waste, and fraud
• Monitor incoming food product to ensure quality
• Teach/coach cooks on proper culinary techniques when needed
• Ensure all food going out of the kitchen is prepared to spec
• Ensure all storage areas are clean and organized
• Ensure all food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils are being respected, clean, and organized
• Possess the knowledge to correctly operate and clean all kitchen equipment
• Perform thorough inventory and random kitchen audits
