Job summary

Otterbein is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to manage daily kitchen operations from 11:30am to 7:30pm, with every other weekend rotation. You will guide kitchen staff, ensure quality food presentation, and uphold safety standards in a full-time setting.

The role emphasizes cost control, menu and recipe development, staff training, scheduling, and strong leadership to deliver exceptional dining experiences while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: Culinary science degree or related certificate would be a plus.
• Licensure: ServSafe certification.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred.

Overview

The Sous Chef position is responsible for helping Otterbein manage all daily operations, including overall direction of kitchen staff. The position requires an individual who will carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

This is a Full-Time position 11:30am-7:30pm (Every other weekend).

• Requires an understanding of federal, state and local food & safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Understand the use and maintenance of various kitchen equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel. Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
• Education: A degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus.
