Job summary

El Puro Cuban Restaurant is seeking an experienced head chef to lead our kitchen operations and uphold high standards across all dishes in North Carolina.

You will drive menu development, train staff, supervise prep, ensure sanitation compliance, and manage scheduling and payroll for the team; strong leadership under pressure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Direct the food preparation process and related activities
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring variety and quality
• Approve and polish dishes before serving
• Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to shortages
• Arrange for repairs when necessary
• Hire, manage and train kitchen staff
• Oversee the work of subordinates
• Estimate staff workload and compensation
• Maintain payroll and attendance records
• Ensure compliance with nutrition, sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Foster cooperation and respect among co-workers
