Wish You Were Here Group is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join Kassi, a new rooftop restaurant at Hotel Erwin Venice Beach. In this role, you will lead back-of-house operations, ensure quality and safety standards, and collaborate on creative menu development.

We are looking for candidates with 2-3 years culinary leadership experience, and a Food Handling Certificate. Offering a competitive salary of $75,000 plus bonuses and benefits, this is a unique opportunity to thrive in a dynamic restaurant environment.

Location: Venice Beach, CA

Salary: $75,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Kassi, the exciting new rooftop restaurant at Hotel Erwin, is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team in Venice Beach.

About The Role

As a Sous Chef at Kassi, you’ll be instrumental in leading our back‑of‑house operations. You’ll ensure smooth daily service, uphold the highest standards of quality and safety, and help craft a vibrant menu that transports guests to a sun‑drenched Mediterranean escape.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure seamless, efficient service
• Uphold exceptional standards of food preparation, safety, and sanitation
• Oversee daily kitchen operations including scheduling, inventory, and purchasing
• Collaborate on menu development and contribute new, creative dishes
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Partner with the front‑of‑house team to deliver an outstanding guest experience
• Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, coordinating repairs as needed

What We’re Looking For

• 2‑3 years of culinary leadership experience in a high‑volume kitchen
• Strong skills in menu planning, kitchen operations, and team leadership
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment
• Food Handling Certificate and completion of in‑house Sous Chef training (or equivalent)
• Proficiency with kitchen technology, POS systems, and inventory management
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
