Job summary

Kiawah Island Club is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead culinary operations on the River Course in the absence of the Executive Chef. You will assist with menu planning for dining rooms, banquets and events, and help train the kitchen team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years as a Sous Chef or culinary leadership, strong teamwork, and clear communication. In-person applications are welcome during business hours at Kiawah Island, SC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Sous Chef experience or culinary leadership.
• Ability to promote and participate in a team environment.
• Ability to understand written and oral directions and to communicate professionally with others.
• Degree for Culinary Arts or training program preferred, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility of all culinary operations River Course in the absence of the Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
• Assist Executive Chef with writing and planning menus for restaurant, banquets, holidays, or other events.
• Provide training, supervision, and professional development for kitchen staff.
• Participate in the cooking process from production to execution, working any position necessary.
• Support the Culinary Intern Program.

Responsibilities
