Job summary

Legend Senior Living® is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. You will assist the Chef with menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring safety and sanitation across kitchen operations.

The role emphasizes maintaining high dining standards, coordinating inventory, and supporting a sustainable work/life balance for associates, with opportunities for growth and employee recognition.

Qualifications

• One year experience in a commercial kitchen as a line cook.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current food handling licenses as required by the state.
• Culinary training (preferred).
• Prior experience as a sous chef (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Chef in menu planning, food preparation, inventory, documentation and scheduling.
• Preparing food in accordance with the planned menu, noting changes when applicable.
• Ensuring all cooking, serving, storage, preparation, and service areas are clean, safe and organized to meet all applicable food service standards and regulations.
• Monitoring quality food service in accordance with Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining standards; leading the kitchen environment in the absence of the Chef.
