Job summary

Qualifications

  • Formación mínima en Comercio Exterior, Comercio Internacional o Administración de Aduanas.
  • Experiencia de 3 a 4 años en operaciones de importación y exportación, preferentemente en empresas manufactureras.
  • Conocimientos avanzados de Excel y herramientas de Microsoft Office; manejo de Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Gestión integral de operaciones de importación, desde disponibilidad de carga en origen hasta entrega al cliente, cumpliendo costos y tiempos.
  • Gestión de operaciones de exportación siguiendo INCOTERM y cumplimiento regulatorio en origen y destino.
  • Gestión de órdenes de compra a proveedores extranjeros, recopilación de cotizaciones y negociación de plazos y costos.
  • Colaboración con Planning, Ingeniería, Calidad, Almacén, Finanzas y Ventas para asegurar entregas puntuales y costo-efectivas.

Resumen de Posición

Manage and comprehensively monitor the company's import and export operations, ensuring their proper execution from cargo preparation or availability at origin to its arrival at the plant or delivery to the customer, as applicable.

This position will be responsible for coordinating the documentary, logistical, customs, banking, and administrative aspects associated with foreign trade operations, ensuring compliance with deadlines, costs, regulatory requirements, and established commercial terms.

It will also provide support to the Purchasing unit in issuing and tracking purchase orders, requesting and analyzing quotes, contacting national and international suppliers, and other activities necessary to guarantee the timely supply of materials, products, and services required by the company.

The role requires ongoing interaction with suppliers, customers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal departments such as Planning, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance, Sales, and Contract Administration.

Responsabilidades Esenciales
  • Comprehensive management of import operations, from cargo availability at origin to shipment entry and administrative closure; ensuring operations within expected costs and timeframes, as well as regulatory and documentary compliance at origin and destination.
  • Comprehensive management of export operations, from cargo availability at our facility to delivery to the customer according to the agreed INCOTERM; ensuring on-time delivery and regulatory and documentary compliance at origin and destination.
  • Management of purchase orders to foreign suppliers, from requesting quotes, comparing alternatives, reviewing terms/costs/deadlines, to awarding and formally placing the purchase order.
  • Monitoring and activation of external purchase orders, focusing on meeting supplier-promised and customer-committed delivery dates, as well as consolidating shipments for cost optimization.
  • Development of new suppliers according to the corporate process for adding, removing, and modifying suppliers.
  • Support for local purchasing processes, both for production and non-production.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, and Sales to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery and identify opportunities for shared process improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of information and key performance indicators for the area to ensure traceability, control, and reporting of our work.
Requisitos del Puesto

Minimum professional and educational background required (including years of experience).

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Trade, or Customs Administration
  • Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in import and export operations, preferably in manufacturing companies.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools, especially Outlook. Intermediate/advanced English, primarily for reading and reviewing documentation, written communication, and contacting international suppliers.

Experience with ERP systems.
