Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Specialist (Raptor) to own procurement and fulfillment of raw materials and mechanical parts essential for Starship development and production. The role spans supplier development, planning, logistics, and BOM management, with a focus on bold, high-impact results.

You will forecast demand, negotiate with suppliers, and manage POs while ensuring manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency under tight program deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of experience in engineering, supply chain, purchasing, or related fields.
• Alternatively 4+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, purchasing, or material planning.
• Experience with MRP/ERP, BOMs, work orders, and purchase orders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing across precision machined components, heat treat, coatings, forgings, castings, and raw materials.
• Quote, negotiate, and place POs aligned with specs, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
• Forecast demand, evaluate supplier capacity, and manage POs to support development and production.
• Track supplier performance metrics like quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
• Interpret drawings to align sourcing with capable suppliers for manufacturability and cost.
• Communicate design changes to supply base to minimize downtime and reduce lead times.
• Solve complex supply chain problems in a fast-evolving environment to ensure continuity.
