First American Nuclear Co. is dedicated to shaping the future of nuclear innovation through advanced reactor technology. Our mission is to support U.S. energy independence and clean energy advancement while fostering a culture of compliance excellence and professional development.

About the Role

Develop and execute sourcing strategies to support procurement of long-lead and supply-critical equipment for the EAGL-1 reactor system. This role leads supplier identification, qualification, and selection, including market assessments, competitive sourcing plans, supplier risk evaluation, and commercial negotiations, aligning engineering, quality assurance, and project requirements. Work arrangement is remote, hybrid, or on-site at our Greater Indianapolis, Indiana or Richland, Washington office, based on candidate location and business need.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering and project teams to identify long-lead, safety-related, and otherwise supply-critical equipment early in design and project development.
  • Develop and maintain sourcing strategies for assigned equipment, commodities, and services, including market assessments, supplier shortlists, and competitive sourcing plans.
  • Identify, screen, and engage domestic and international suppliers with the technical capability, nuclear quality credentials, and manufacturing capacity to support small modular reactor (SMR) deployment.
  • Support supplier qualification and selection through requests for information and quotation, technical and commercial evaluations, audits, and cross-functional source-selection activities.
  • Ensure procurement packages flow down applicable technical, quality, regulatory, and records requirements, including commercial-grade dedication, in coordination with Engineering and Quality Assurance.
  • Assess supplier risks, support negotiations of price, schedule, and commercial terms, and maintain auditable sourcing documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant nuclear experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in nuclear procurement, strategic sourcing, or a closely related nuclear power supply-chain role.
Required Skills
  • Working knowledge of nuclear quality-assurance requirements for procurement, including 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B and ASME NQA-1, and of commercial-grade dedication.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical specifications and supplier proposals and to communicate effectively across engineering, quality, legal, and commercial functions.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting nuclear new-build, advanced reactor, SMR, or first-of-a-kind technology programs.
  • Experience sourcing engineered equipment with long manufacturing cycles, such as forgings, pressure-boundary components, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
Pay Range and Benefits

$99,000 to $141,900 per year. Final compensation is based on skills, experience, and internal equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, paid maternity and paternity leave, and commuter benefits. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check and pre-employment drug test.
