Job summary

ISS Solutions, Inc. seeks a Sourcing Specialist to ensure efficient processing of requisitions and purchase orders while supporting quality customer satisfaction.

You will work with the purchasing information system, manage supplier interactions, monitor delivery and pricing, and contribute to process improvements. Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor’s degree with healthcare purchasing experience and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree with 2–5 years in healthcare purchasing preferred.
• Equivalent knowledge with 1–3 years in purchasing in a multi-institutional setting will be considered.
• Strong organizational, communication, data analysis and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and requisitions, verify prices and delivery.
• Manage buyer messages daily and pursue resolution.
• Stay informed on market conditions affecting healthcare purchasing.
• Use online purchasing system to input requisitions and orders per policy.
• Coordinate supplier interactions including orders, returns, and invoicing.

Position: Sourcing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures the most efficient and accurate processing and documentation of requisitions and purchase orders. Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of ISS Solutions in its efforts to provide quality customer satisfaction.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Processes all purchase orders including, review of purchase orders and requisitions order placement and verification of prices and delivery. Works in conjunction with senior sourcing specialist and end users to meet all procurement needs.
• Actively manages buyer messages generated by the purchasing information system on a daily basis; checks and pursues resolution daily as defined.
• Remains knowledgeable and current in market conditions and trends affecting healthcare purchasing. Utilizes continuing education opportunities to improve purchasing techniques.
• Knowledgeable of the use of on-line purchasing system to input requisitions and purchase orders utilizing defined policies and procedures.
• Manages day-to-day supplier interactions including ordering, delivery, coordination of return/replacement goods and invoice payment issues.
• Assists in the monitoring of vendor/supplier performance.
• Follows-up with suppliers to expedite delivery of outstanding orders. Monitors back orders and recalls and coordinates obtaining replacement products in conjunction with senior sourcing specialist.
• Provides assistance to end users in the use of the web requisition process.
• Submits management reports as necessary.
• Recommends improved methods and procedures.
• Participates in project meetings and planning sessions as assigned.
• Provides backup support to other purchasing areas as needed.
• Supports and promotes ISS Solutions and Geisinger directives for teams and service excellence initiatives.
• Maintains appropriate turn-around times as defined for all responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrated organizational skills (organizational effectiveness competencies)
• Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills (interpersonal/communication and technological effectiveness competencies).
• Demonstrated data analysis skills (word-processing and spreadsheet skills).
• Demonstrated customer service skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree with two or five years of experience in healthcare purchasing preferred. Equivalent knowledge with one to three years experience in purchasing ina multi-institutional setting in lieu of the degree will be considered.
