Job summary

Sage Parts is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support the Purchasing Department by managing day-to-day sourcing operations and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role focuses on optimizing supply chains for aftermarket GSE parts and coordinating supplier qualification for cost savings and quality.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in sourcing or procurement, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to travel up to 25% to Sage distribution centers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• 3–5 years sourcing or procurement experience required.
• Experience procuring mechanical or electrical components and related services greatly helps.
• Experience purchasing electrical motors and components is a plus.
• Experience in industrial motorized equipment or automotive replacement parts is preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems is a plus.
• Fluency in English; Spanish or French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and optimize supply chains for aftermarket GSE parts and mobile equipment.
• Oversee supplier selection and product qualification to deliver cost savings while ensuring quality.
• Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Inventory Control to improve supply chains.
• Research components and supplier capabilities via audits, visits, and inspections.
• Expand vendor base by leveraging world-class suppliers and alternate supply lines.
• Document sourcing targets and results; track savings and performance.
• Work on-site at a Sage distribution center location with up to 25% travel.

Sage Parts is the world's largest supplier of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and airport-related equipment replacement parts with operations in The United States, Canada, Chile, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Peru, South Africa, The Netherlands, and The United Kingdom. Sage Parts supplies replacement parts and accessories for all types and brands of GSE. Sage provides supply chain management, on site supply services, single source supply, logistics solutions, engineering solutions and other cost reduction programs.

Summary:

The Sourcing Specialist will support the Purchasing Department by performing day-to-day sourcing operations and working with cross-functional partners to achieve goals. Below is a detailed list which includes, but is not limited to, the basic job responsibilities, specifications and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize and further develop deep domain expertise to identify and optimize supply chains for aftermarket products for industrial and automotive parts, primarily for mobile equipment.
• Serve as a key liaison for day-to-day sourcing operations, supplier and product selection, and oversee product qualification processes to deliver cost savings while maintaining stringent quality standards.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Inventory Control to identify sub-optimized supply chains to prioritize efforts and maximize impact.
• Research components for deeper understanding of each component’s supply chain, up to and including customer and overhaul shop visits, warehouse and branch audits, incoming inspection of strategic components, and vendor visits.
• Optimize vendor base by maximizing usage of world class suppliers within product lines and proactively find alternative supply lines.
• Achieve and record measurable cost saving through sourcing efforts, matchup of OEM components to other than OEM supply chains and price negotiations to improve the business cost position in the market place.
• Maintain documentation of sourcing process, targets and goals.
• On site at a Sage distribution center location.
• Requires up to 25% travel.

REQUIREMENTS / REQUESTED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma required
• Associate Degree preferred
• Three to five years sourcing or procurement experience required
• Experience in procurement of mechanical or electrical components and related services strong plus.
• Desirable to have experience purchasing components for electrical vehicles
• Experience sourcing electrical motors and electrical components preferred
• Experience in industrial motorized equipment, material handling, OEM or aftermarket mobile equipment replacement parts business and/or automotive related replacement parts business preferred
• Experience working in Enterprise Resource Planning System a plus
• Aviation Ground Service Equipment experience a plus
• Global industrial and / or automotive experience a plus
• Tire experience is a plus
• Ability to thrive in high volume work environment
• Ability to lift and handle product weighing up to 25lbs
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
• English required, Bilingual Spanish/French a plus!
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong Excel skill required
