- Develop and execute a warehouse network sourcing strategy that aligns with business growth, service, cost, capacity, and risk objectives.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives that support warehouse footprint optimization, geographic coverage, and long‑term network strategy.
- Create and refine supplier evaluation frameworks, business allocation recommendations, and sourcing governance processes.
- Drive supplier diversification and risk mitigation strategies to support business continuity and operational resilience.
- Lead the end‑to‑end development and execution of comprehensive warehouse and 3PL RFP processes.
- Identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard prospective logistics and warehousing partners to support distribution and fulfillment needs.
- Coordinate bidder communications, site visits, proposal reviews, data collection, and stakeholder evaluations throughout the RFP cycle.
- Conduct supplier due diligence, including assessments of operational capabilities, financial health, technology platforms, and scalability.
- Develop executive‑ready recommendations supported by robust quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Develop total‑cost‑of‑ownership, should‑cost, and scenario‑based financial models to inform sourcing decisions.
- Lead commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and pricing reviews with prospective logistics and warehousing providers.
- Analyze warehousing, transportation, labor, inventory, and service cost drivers to identify efficiency and savings opportunities.
- Benchmark the current distribution and fulfillment network to improve commercial terms, operational efficiency, customer service, scalability, and total landed cost.
- Partner closely with Finance to evaluate investment requirements, transition costs, and long‑term savings opportunities associated with network changes.
- Develop supplier scorecards, dashboards, and evaluation criteria covering cost, service, quality, capacity, technology, and innovation metrics.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and executive business reviews during the selection process and recommend future performance governance and service‑level management approaches.
- Assess providers’ operational excellence programs and continuous improvement capabilities to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Assess current and future warehouse capacity requirements against business forecasts and growth plans.
- Evaluate provider scalability, peak‑season readiness, business continuity plans, and overall operational resilience.
- Identify supply chain, operational, geopolitical, and financial risks that may impact network performance.
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation recommendations for the future‑state warehouse and distribution network.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and external logistics partners to balance service, cost, capacity, risk, scalability, sustainability, and business growth objectives.
- Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously as a strong project leader, delivering high‑quality results within tight timelines.
- Prepare clear, persuasive business cases, network evaluations, financial models, and executive presentations to support decision‑making.
- At least 7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or operations.
- Proven experience as a strategic sourcing and procurement leader managing more than $150M in spend.
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex RFPs and supplier selection initiatives in North America and EMEA, with preferred experience in APAC and LATAM.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills with deep expertise in logistics, warehousing, distribution, and third‑party logistics services.
- Advanced proficiency in developing total‑cost‑of‑ownership and scenario‑based financial models and business cases.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct network evaluations, interpret complex data, and develop executive‑level recommendations.
- Ability to balance service, cost, capacity, risk, sustainability, and operational requirements in sourcing decisions.
- Effective cross‑functional partnering skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and external providers.
- Strong project leadership skills, including managing multiple workstreams and delivering results within tight timelines.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, and sourcing analytics tools.
- Familiarity with network design methodologies and logistics technology platforms such as FBA, WMS, and TMS systems.
- Expertise in supplier negotiation, contract negotiation, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to lead comprehensive RFP processes, including proposal development, proposal writing, editing, and evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in supply chain management, production planning, and logistics operations across multiple regions.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and frameworks from organizations such as APICS and CSCMP.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, APICS, CSCMP, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
- Experience with proposal development processes and Microsoft Office tools for documentation and analysis.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence programs.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and persuasive written materials for executive audiences.
This role is based in downtown Seattle, WA in a well‑appointed office environment. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and onsite work from Tuesday through Thursday, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The building offers a pleasant, professional setting and is accessible by public transportation, making it convenient for those who commute by bus. Parking is available nearby at daily rates. The work involves regular collaboration with cross‑functional teams and external logistics partners, using modern sourcing analytics tools, ERP systems, and logistics technology platforms such as FBA, WMS, and TMS. The environment supports focused analytical work, stakeholder engagement, and executive‑level presentations in a professional, business‑oriented atmosphere.
This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
